Everyone needs to take breaks every once in awhile fam. The community isn't going anywhere. Your readers, your friends, your colleagues. None of them are going anywhere. Everyone will be here whenever you get back. I've learned that the hard way molar than once. I will probably check in personally though.
Just be kind to yourself. Know that substack is something that is optional and also something that can become overwhelming. You're a human, not a commodity. Remember to give yourself that grace. You can't burn the fire at both ends all the time forever and expect to stay on top of your game. Whatever you do, don't burn out, you're a boon to my personal writing family, the larger independent publishing scene as a whole, and a friend. Sometimes you got to Make sure that you're okay before you can continue the work.
Remember there's always the work. The quiet part that I never say out loud is of course that the work is never over. But the post script to that would be the work will still be there.
I hope you’re able to get the rest and everything else you need. There’s nothing wrong with placing self-care and your needs first. Take care of yourself. Stay well friend.
my acne is hormonal from PCOS :) so yeah, defo somewhat stress related, but mostly for me it is diet/cycle and it's frustrating! was on accutane a little over a decade ago and it worked wonders but then pregnancy changed everything a couple years ago, lol. so now i'm just taking four hard months to recalibrate! thank you!! xxxx
You've got to prioritise what you've got to prioritise! I really enjoyed my first book club, thanks to it I've discovered some books I wouldn't have otherwise. I look forward to it restarting but there's no rush.
